Surviving Age

Today I Looked into the Mirror
And Saw New Lines upon My Face.
One Thing I'd like to Do,
Is Grow Old with a Little Grace.

The Signs of Aging Are Subtle,
But I See Them Every Day,
 Slowly Taking over
And I'm Sure They're Here to Stay.

The Outward Appearance May Change,
But I'll Stay the Same Inside.
As Long as I Live and Breathe,
Youth Inside Will Abide.

So Let the Body Age.
It Will Grow Old and Die.
It's the Spirit and Soul, You See
That Forever Will Survive.

And you are so right. I feel as young as ever though my body betrays me. Congratulations on a great poem and win. Love, Joyce
