Survival Mode

We are trying
to survive
by writing our hopes, wishes, reflections
down on paper
While the clock on the wall
  continues to tick
    We watch the
dance - continue onward
towards our goal
   of making it through
another day, week, month, year or hopefully many years
     Shadows grow
         the air is filled
with wonders and terrors
   Let's not miss out
  on our
       chance to
begin anew
Words indelibly inscribed
on paper and in minds far and near
reach every near and distant land
Set souls on fire

Putting words on paper does help us cope with "wonders and terrors," Matthew. This is a great poem that all poets will appreciate. I am leaving for home tomorrow as mentioned in my blog and will get your book in the mail once I'm home. Love, Carolyn

A fanciful way to describe the busy activity of the average human brain in words.

The great joy of writing. WE write for so many reasons. What would we all here be or do without writing? Good one, matt.
