Survival

Her future she cannot see Within the city Over towering trees Her night A starless sky Moonlight replaced by Neon lights Concrete and glass Replace flowers and grass She holds dear to memories she has A child joyful and happy Growing up in the country A time of past A fairytale her heart will tell For now she's living in neon hell With bills to pay Careers that failed Standing up when she fell Just to make a life in this Concrete hell Friends are few Even fewer are true Love is found When payment is due She longs to start anew And must do all she can do To escape this neon fence To escape this Concrete hell She takes a chance Upon a stage she makes her stance With pole in hand She starts to dance ( Crow Cries)
