Survival

There is a fierceness in our blood.
An ancient instinct of survival
Our soul will not become extinct.
Boiled on the banks of battle
Parched in the sand of drought
Evolved into a miracle of homeostasis..
Secrets of existance whispered in ear of infants.
Selfishness combines with pride
and our hearts demand to provide
We will overcome.
There is strength in determination
More so when mind and soul is united.
I am more than your perception
So much more than your understanding
There is a genetic story emboldened with my mothers legacy..

I am alive.
Free.
Wild.

Unrestrained abandonment to the ferocity of my desires.
I am more than the beauty and grace society asked of me..

We are children of a people who spoke to fire
And listened to the wind.
We have inherited the magic of a land who birthed us
And swam through the waves who raised us.

These veins connect me
To a power older than these words.
My spirit knows true strength
when this world has learned adaption.
We are more than we could ever comprehend.
