Surrender

Surrender;
Dark path to release
     fear’s control
     and seek peace.

Journey long;
Enduring wrong;
No retaliation sought
In this battle to be fought
     within myself.

Flesh cries out,
Longing to shout,
“My heart breaks,
     it aches.
This task I cannot bear!
Life’s not fair!”

Surrender;
Dark path without control
To release fear’s hold.
No weapons to embrace;
But Love to seek
And healing in this place
     where fear resides
     and terror takes its refuge.

Hi Cathi, Way to go! I love your writing style. The rhythm and beat in your words makes the poem a pleasure to read. The way you’ve brought out the subject of surrender, fear and love works very well. I’ll be sure to look out to more from you. Vicky.

Emotionally gripping lines! There was some great atmosphere in this piece. The pros & cons of giving in...nicely done!

My current journey to learn surrender is a great teacher. Though, I have to say I don't always enjoy my lessons. : ) Thank you so much for your kind words.
