surfriders at play

silver swimmers
 ride the waves porpoising ~
  surfriders at play

playful ocean clowns
 jolly jesters jump and joke ~
   a smiling whimsy

dolphin songs echo
 lyrics of trills clicks and squeaks ~
  seafaring minstrels

seven seas pilgrims
 models of athletic grace ~
  argent illusions

ocean mysteries
 lustrous skin like sea satin
  tender skin sunburns

Greetings JCB! Like you I think of dolphins in the summer, the ocean and the beach - something wonderful to look forward to after winter! So glad you enjoyed this haiku string. So much fun to write. I really enjoy writing haiku so full of opportunities for vivid imagery. Am loving your poems on the arts - bringing them to light! Saw your soupmail and made the correction. Andrea, thank you so much. As you can see I am way behind in answering emails! Thank you for your patience. Holidays, birthdays, family gatherings, guests and finishing the house have made a severe dent in my time! Dolphins really bring a :) to my face. They are such happy clowns!
