Surfing

I walk to the edge of liquid space
on infinite grains of white
green glass coolness takes me
and makes me work, it's not for free
I glide my way to beyond the edge of chaos
to find my waiting place
waiting to ride what He has made
His world touches my face, and I ponder
for this creation to point to Him
He shows such love for me
He brings its force so constantly and lets
me play my way
gently carried on such power
it's all bridled by his hand,
and me so small, so infinitely small
He made this place, this liquid space
but lets me play this day
I glide my way to my place,
again.

Hello, Brian. I was looking for a triolet, the required form by Andrea for the contest but couldn't find it so I found this. This is actually very lovely. Praising God just came naturally with your lines as you savor in awe the power and beauty of the ocean. A 7. PS. Welcome to Poetry Soup! I hope you'll like it here. Kim

By the way, your poem here is very nice. I don't think I ever read a surfing poem before which praised God at the same time.

Sorry, I'm such a blockhead...I get it...renamed it Visual 1.

Thank you so much! I renamed my contest submitted poem but found I could not select the _ and have it submit properly. I had to use a ---, so it looks like "Visual---1". I hope this is acceptable.

For some reason, I am unable to respond to your Soupmail. you should contact a friend at Soup and ask if they can respond to your soupmail or not. maybe something is wrong with your soupmail. I am able to respond to others. So first I wanted to tell you that. Second, yes, to be consistent with my rules, I better say that all triolets need to say visual plus their number next to the title. It's easy to rectify. Just go to your poem and click on edit. I don't even read them till judging time!

Morning Janet, yes surfing is one passion of mine and so I guess that makes it easier to write poetry on it :-)
