Surfing

SURFING

Passion surfs on the waves of discontent
but calm waters cannot make an avid ride.
When currents stress the undertow,
it pulls and pushes on the board to
throw the rider off the side.
And in this challenge of a reckless sea
tumultuous swirling unrelenting forces
conspire to end the ride but sometimes
the breakers hold true and one finds
meaning on the perfect wave.

Thanks Chuck, Surfing like life can be all kinds to all kinds of people. It requires persistence and patience and it can throw one off balance time and time again. But for many, it is worth the ride. Allan

Hi Allen: I admit I know nothing of surfing but you explained so poetically that I had a feeling what it is to be on the board Geat Write!

Hey Ralph, thanks for visiting and reading my poem. Actually, surfing is a metaphor for life, the balancing act we all do just to stay on top of things. Sometimes, we are swept under and sometimes on very special days we ride high on life Allan
