Chimney swifts - i rarely hear of them, birds I presume? Thanks for penning this one.

Yep. They are numerous around here and, in fact, seem to enjoy nesting in my chimney, and are quite disgusted when I try to use my fireplace. I have blocked the chimney several times, but the wind keep blowing the caps off.

Though not so good for the insects, I expect it creates viewing pleasure for the spectator just as your haiku does with its seasonal imagery! Happy Monday !

Thanks, Mike. For some reason there are zillions of insects in my dogwood tree. So, it becomes a bountiful feeding ground for the birds.

Many times i've watched the swallows and swifts dart around chasing a meal. Your wonderful Haiku, brings it all back to life. Thanks for posting.
