The rispetto lyric is generally composed of eight hendecasyllabic (11-syllable) lines. In its earliest form the rhyme scheme was usually abababcc. Later, the scheme ababccdd became more prominent, and other variations can also be found.

In naive minds where paranoid whispers spread, superstitions escalate through ancient lies. An omen of fear that fills a heart with dread. Be it the number thirteen or black cat's eyes. Although sometimes things in life really 'suck,' shattering a mirror is simply bad luck. The voice of reason will provide you relief. Common sense prevails when faith is your belief.

SO, I sometimes must suffer from naiveté especially after watching a realistic horror movie....so I stay away from those. I would become afraid to be in the dark for a brief period of time. Fortunately, we know, as you point out, there's a reason for things--a real relief. It sometimes surprises me that we don't talk about this more. You've probably encountered people who no matter what you say, will still cling to superstition. You've created a great poem on this subject.

Yes i am used to hearing so many of those superstitions too; the mirror one is common in asia , and the strangest one was i think when one of my chinese friends said, we should not gift loved ones “ perfume” if we do, the one who received it should give back a coin or more so relationship wont be shattered. That kind of made me a bit conscious when giving gifts altho i know its a myth haha. Self fulfilling prophecies get in the way. Love the rhymes and flow of this. Inspired to try this form!
