Roy Pett Poet Sonnet

Supermoon

Way up high appearing through mist and gloom
our last time this year to experience
from Earth this amazing special cold moon
full of splendour, star of a difference,

so clear, so bright, this spectacular sight
our large friend full of beauty now to see
gracefully hangs in the sky, such delight
filling our mind with happiness and glee,

looks so near yet it is so far away
our precious moon that we take for granted
creating brightness at night as if day
feeling privileged honoured, enchanted,

Rejoice this night our lovely supermoon
shining through grey cloud, brightens misty gloom.
