Superhero

Admiration for those who wear a cape
On a screen and in an amusement park
A child’s source of hope
An adult’s nostalgic core

Reverence for those who don’t
Everywhere they are
An adult’s aspiration spoke
To the cape they once wore

Screaming I believe I can fly
Jumping through hoops to save a life
Racing through smoke without a second thought
Making a difference, no matter how small

Every single one of us
Grows up to become a superhero
Pilot, Doctor, Firefighter, Human
Every dream comes true, Extraordinary or mellow
