Sunup
Slipping over the edge of Earth,
Sol summons Dawn for His rebirth
at sunset.
And His descent dooms day to die;
His crimson blood staining the sky,
with sunlight.
The Moon's pale sphere of mirrored light
discreetly rises in the night;
at sundown.
Dawn's lance then pierces the darkness,
dissolving its shield of starkness;
with sunshine.
And as sunbeams intensify,
Sol's brilliance blinds the mortal eye;
at sunrise.
