Sunshine In the Storm
Once lost at sea...the waves were getting wicked
Warnings I heard but I didn't dare heed them
Tossed to the east and tossed to the west
The boat was falling to pieces and I believed it was a battleship
Third time going under...I cried out to the lord
I reached for His hand and He pulled me above
I saw sunshine in the middle of the storm
Walking in a wasteland...whirlwinds they were raging
Like a legion of lunatics unleashed and gone crazy
Spinning so savage in cyclonic circles
One thousand miles an hour...spun out and left sickened
Deformed and disfigured...chased by demons of dust
Reality hit me and turned me to rust
Only one could I trust as I cried out to the lord
Like a pause button pushed there was peace all around
Twisted, tangled and torn
I saw sunshine in the middle of the storm
Flood waters rose but I just could not move
I lived my life bad...like I had nothing to lose
Up to my waist...up to my chest...soon up to my neck
Would this be my last breath?
With a prayer for protection I cried out to the lord
In the blink of an eye I was dry as a desert
From the fear of dark death I was quickly delivered
My life now is new...I'm renewed and reborn
I saw sunshine in the middle of the storm
