sunshine

skinny sidewalk
hugs the fence
sunset
flickers through
rusty diamonds
like a movie
chain link--
all that prevents me
from plunging into her
bottomless pit
dug out
lifetimes ago
yeah--I've already
slipped into her
from the other side
into the light
I keep walking
like a movie
time is
no boundary
like a mirage
it evaporates
drawing me deeper
into my sunshine
"my only sunshine...
you'll never know dear..
how much I..."
yeah...
"please don't take
my sunshine away."
