Sunset Soul
My wings spread as I took a step
And leapt up through the sky,
I rose to answer the simple question,
I needed to answer why.
Below the clouds, the sunset
It was a disappointing cold, wet air.
Below the clouds, the sunset
Was like a soul that didn't care.
And as I soared the answer appeared
As clear as day and night.
As obvious as the dream in which I flew,
As distinct as black and white.
Above the clouds the air was clear
The sunset was divine.
The answer is to do whatever it takes
To make the sunset shine.
