Sunset Down
The seaside isn't cheerful any more
now that i lost you along the shore
it hurts to cry these salty tears
even more so when i face those desperate fears
I hate the splashing of the tide
how it eats away the sand where walked my lovely bride
but now her footsteps have been eroded
and the life we had has been steadily corroded
no more along this sandy seaside
can my lover and i smile and hide
the tides of envious time have come and gone
along this bloody mix of sea and stone
all i have is her mangled gown
to cradle as the sunsets down
