Sunset

A brush streaking across a periwinkle canvas
Above the green fields of grass stretching
As children to reach as high as adults.
Paint smears before human eyes
While the setting sun gives its long farewell
As lovers loathing to part at any time.
Small illuminations dot a town
After the warmth of light has departed
As candles being lit in celebration or remembrance.
