Sunset
Ribbons of rose in a darkening sky
purple strokes of evening's artist whose
brushes tip each fleeting cloud's silver lining
with a hint of gold leaf..
sun still giving one last
hurrah of a dying day, before slipping down
into satin sheets of a lavender sea..
