Sunrise in April
A golden sun rises against steel gray clouds
As a cold northeasterly breeze rustles those oak leaves
turning them inside out
They are not wearing a shroud
But gold like the golden beauty of fall
Yet__yet it is still spring no doubt
It is still quite dry here and the knowledge that all of nature is suffering
and only God can send the rain makes me want to
change it if I could
But I can't do that because I am not in control
and it is good that I am not
because I would make a big mess of it
Here the oak leaves turn red and not gold or if it is really dry, they might just turn brown and fall to the ground quite quickly..So the fact that the leaves look gold got my attention.
