Sunrise

Sunrise

In that mystic moment of pre-dawn light
When shadows linger, remnant of the night
And birds proclaim the coming dawn
Rejoicing at a world reborn
We wait in reverent anticipation
Of a glorious coronation

At first a blush, a hint, no more
With stealthy growth the heavens explore
Embracing all within its reach
The sky awash in perfect peach
That fades again before my eye
To brilliant blue, no longer shy.

But bursting forth as is her right
The rising sun resumes her flight
Causing instant transformation
Of grey perception to colour affirmation
A royal robe for a celestial Queen
Creating below a vivid scene

I delivered newspapers in my area for a few years, and I witnessed many of these sunrises when I completed my daily runs. Good descriptive write.
