Embedded deeply in trickles of rain; I grasp love’s ending as my head lays down On a field of blossoms, their tresses agleam, Curtsying gaily unto April winds... Dear sunflower, sunflower, lift me high Your lustrous twirls beheld to these cold eyes; In fresh revelry, a tearful heart whispers For daylight of change… now a bud ablaze, Igniting my faith, reborn like your sway To dance again through heavenly prayers! Nette, Congratulations on your awesome entry for my PICTURE contest. Thank you for keeping it under 10 lines... Stop by my latest blog "Photo Questions" and enjoy my take on the same picture of "Lilly Covering Her eyes." I wrote a little something myself. Enjoy if you like. Always ~LINDA~

Hi Nette! I don't want to sound repetitive, but each time I read a poem of yours I can't help saying 'excellent' or 'beautiful'. You always deliver, as with this sunflower poem which interprets the proffered image so well. #7 hugs // paul

The sunflower has had strong effect on many artists - Van Gogh, and how about the scene in Dr, Zhivago. I like the opening bright yellow on black - kind of ethereal. I read this several times, decided it was like much of modern poetry and music. You read or listen for effect and not for form. Love, daver

I'm going to be honest Nette... I have many great poem... but none which I was looking for. Yes, this is great. If memory serves me correctly, I had one entry close to the imagery I was looking for. Of course you did marvelous with the depth of the picture, but did not hit the words I was searching for. Thank you for getting this one in. It will have great placement in my contest ... Love Linda
