Sunflower Mine

sunflower mine, canary, the colour of your petals. the sight of which does ease the lead coursing through me the thought of which does blur the pandemonium around me sunflower mine, i’ll water you so you keep growing, for me. for you, facing the blinding sun. sunflower mine, i’ll caress your petals, ’til they wear out, ’til my fingerprints are forever etched on them. sunflower mine, i’ll brush the dust off your leaves, ’til they reflect bud you always were. sunflower mine, i’ll hold you until all your petals fall off, and you’re left with a withered stem. but sunflower mine, when there is nothing left of you, i will gather all the yellow petals that fell, i will water you ’til i dry out myself, i will hold you ’til your stems leave my hands scarred, i will carry you and the sun would be honoured to have you face it, and i will make you mine again. i swear on the days i have wanted to hold you, i will make you yours too. i swear on the days that i will get you hold you, i will make you bloom better, i swear on the days that i pray we’ll have, i will make you the best sunflower there could be. i will make you mine, but i will make you yours too. //sunflower, my eyes, want you more than a melody//
