Sunburn

Deliciously deceiving smile Emits a spectrum of light emotion. You are worshipped and feared by all Dictator through and of all seasons But you can take your toll at times, you overdo it. And prepare us for the battle Of hopelessly empty days. We think we can absorb you, Be you for a moment, and perhaps Even keep you for a while? Below our bronze-plated armor Our skin blisters and burns with the Anticipation of tomorrow Through listless dance We indulge in your temptation, we give in. Some things just aren’t forever... And I can’t believe in you anymore You’ll be gone before we know it Nine months later is your rebirth And another time to shine With your arrival comes relief, And with your passing, regrets.
