Sun Shone Again
Sun shone again.
When the tears refused to fall,
And the sun decided to shine,
The rain would not fall,
Coz the sky was a big blue field.
Her dams were all dry,
Like wildfire the warmth spread,
The pain in a heart… a distant ache,
‘Twas blurred under the blanket
Of renewed hope.
Withered hope watered to life,
By all the love heaped upon her,
The smiles around her all true,
Chasing away the gloom and urging her to rise.
She held her breath and waited,
For the tears to fall yet again,
But fall again they would not
The sun in her life dried them up.
She tried to shield her eyes from the glare,
But it just shone on and on and on,
Into her cocoon of tears she could not enter
And all the corners of her life were lit up.
Eventually the tears were buried away,
Painful memories a distant past
Her present a warm place to be
Full of life and new colors all bright.
