Sun Shines
Oh, glorious sun
That casts light upon us
Do you relish the history
You have shone upon?
Do you look forward
To the new morn
As we the people
Look forward to tomorrows?
Are you compassionate
Toward us as we admire
The beauty of your being,
The warmth you emit?
Or, are you generously
Hovering above us
As a gift placed solely
For our pleasure and hope?
