Sun and Moon Wistfully Watch

Sun wistfully watched moon Envying his calm departure As he oozed beyond the horizon without a glance Waiting an extra second, Sun admired his backside, Before she slid into place on the horizon To begin her uphill rise to bring morning to the valley. Moon had a touch of regret Wondering if Sun suspected the love letters in his heart Written by the stars for years, wondering if she suspected That he carried a romantic torch for her With mixed emotions he began his rise In the east, bringing night to the other side of the earth.
