Notes About The Poem

Summer's Past

“Summer’s Past”

Faded Thoughts
Are all I have left
Of the love we chased
The laughter we shared
While playing on that shore
In the spring time of our lives

We gave it a chance
Knowing it wouldn’t last
Knowing we had to pass

I return every once in a while
To this shore beside the sea
It replenishes my inner soul
The sounds and scents of the sea
Sandpipers to and fro
Castles in the sand

A lovely collection
Brings to mind
Of a wonderful time
The sounds and scents of the sea
Your wet body clinging to mine
