Summer's Heat

SUMMER’S HEAT
When I first saw you in the early spring Of our grand love affaire I instantly Became aware of new life blossoming Within my heart and knew we had to be.. Then in the summer sun our passion flared, Engulfing us; an all consuming fire Of love and lust that left us almost scared By the intensity of our desire. But Autumn surely follows Summer heat And as the dying leaves begin to fall, So passion dies as lovers are replete And all too soon there’s nothing left at all. Now winter comes with grey skies up above And all I have are memories of love. 28th May 2020 Summer's Heat poetry contest Sponsor - John Hamilton
