Summer Vacation
Just sitting in this island paradise;
the palm trees swaying in the summer breeze.
With Mother Nature’s beauty so precise,
I kick back to enjoy this life of ease.
The pelicans are soaring overhead;
I watch them as they deftly glide along,
while drifting on the breeze with wings wide spread,
I’m thoroughly enjoying nature’s song.
The roaring of the surf against the shore,
and ocean mist that’s blowing in the air,
the island beauty one can not ignore;
a barefoot moment in a life so fair.
And while I ponder all my future chores,
the tasks of life that always come our way;
remembering the life on distant shores,
I’ll close my eyes and think about this day.
