Summer Rain

i lie down in the road
 no one around
looking at the sky
fluffy gray clouds fill my eyes
 i'm waiting
i hear thunder in the distance
its getting closer
 the wind picks up
 nice breeze flowing over me
something cool and moist hits my cheek
 finally its here
drops of water fall from heaven
 i close my eyes
 slightly cracking my lips
just enough to taste the water in my mouth
 it starts pouring down
 my body cooling off
from the summer heat
 im at peace
listening to the sound of the rain
 rush down the sidewalk
i smile and think to myself
 how i love summer rain
