Summer Nights

at night,
i escape to the roof
and count the stars that are present
and match them to a count when my lover was here

every summer brings back memories
when i saw the yearn in those eyes,
begging me to not leave
and promised to the stars in the sky

the sky is same
constellations decorating my night
and moon is still hanging around
except my love has become foreign
