Summer Night Symphonies

Locusts and crickets rub their legs like mad Their summer night symphonies uniformly bad Yet when chill breezes still these musicians' strings I long for the return of their discordant wings

This was fun my friend. Those concerts of spring and summer are certainly worth waiting for.

I always love those cricket sounds and miss them since we no longer live near a creek area. Great poem, Gershon! :)

No crickets in the trees near you? Seems odd... Thanks, Laura, and Season's best, Gershon

Gershon, I like this symphonic poem's feelings felt in chorus. Though locust' eyes, such an other-worldly look. I miss their song too. -Richard

Yes. The colder it gets, the more their song is missed… And so it goes every year. Thanks, Richard. Happy happy! ~ gw
