Oh yeah, loving the sounds of summer. My wife and I have rented a cabin in luray a few times. It sets on top of a mountain with only a dirt/rock road leading to it. The crickets and tree frogs are sublime. I have a haibun I've written about the experience I'll post soon

Wonderfully thought of, and such a great theme Sam. Love this one, especially how you took each insect source and gave it the sound. Natures own music comes alive. A favorite my friend...

All their singing put together makes a magic soporano! Lovely quintains ! Love the crooners of the day.... the dragonflies, and the whirr of their wings' soft downbeats ! Apt words for each one's type of music. A lovely poem dear Sam and the combined music of the tiny winged ministrels makes soft undulations of joy in my heart!

A nice upbeat poem, Sam. I was waiting for the bridge ... (wink, wink - nudge, nudge). Have a nice weekend.

So glad you enjoyed this nod to the "summer songsters" who bring such a sense of peace and happiness to a summer night! Thought you might enjoy those two stanzas! I think of you every time I think, or write, about a dragonfly - such a rich symbol of rebirth and transformation! Sending you blessings and hugs!!

Oh, thank you so much Jo! I think the feeling is mutual! Being a singer myself really helped and I love exploring words. Thank you for sharing in this, as Deb put it, "happiness." Blessings to you!
