Summer Love

SUMMER LOVE Long blond hair eyes like a raven Your love was all I was cravin As I watched you dance by the water Short summer dress flowers in you hair You danced like you didn’t have a care Didn’t think it would get any hotter. We held hands walking by the shoreline For that summer you were mine I was hoping that it would never end We ran alone as it started to rain Drunk on whiskey and feeling no pain Trying to get out of the driving wind. We feel asleep holding to each other I thought there would be another And then the night turned into day We woke up to the morning sun As you laid with your dress undone Holding you and nothing I could say. Now the years have slowly gone by Sometimes I look at the sky And remember making love on the cool ground Those days are gone you went away Nothing I could do to make you stay You left without making a sound.
