Summer Lights

Endless delight
        as songs of
time
wing their way
into
     our minds and hearts
All the while, a moth sits waiting
outside our window
  Let's get up and dance!
Dancing will lead us to freedom
Songs will show us the way
Moths are attracted
to light
We're attracted to sounds, light, and the promise of a better day
We'll fly like the moth around our lightbulb
   cutting through the torrid atmosphere
           seeking peace
on a summer evening
Before you drift off to dreamland I will ask you
Did you notice the fireflies
glowing in our garden?
