Summer into Fall

yellow leaves litter the street after a touch of rain asphalt glistens I drive alone I listen to Public Radio a story told a man lives alone betrayed and my tires sing as his story is told about how he lost faith day by day I drive through the downtown the shops and bars are closed a man stands alone and sweeps a sidewalk I listen to the radio as it speaks to me it is my story as I discover someone I loved is going with someone else that was spring then a sad summer now it’s fall now a moment of silence after a touch of rain I look for the sun to break through clouds as the story plays the announcer says hope is the answer if someone who’s hurt dares to accept the change I’ll see my new friend sometime she says she hangs out where I go to hear me sing I sang from my heart and told her I’d do it again.

This story shows differences on how circumstances can affect our Ives. I like the romantic hope at the end.
