Summer Heat

Thoughts of last summer rush to my mind, Walks along the beach in the blazing sun, Burned my soul in an erotic and love dance, Memories flash back of those times of heat, Sometimes when we are grieving one way, It smothers those thoughts, My dreams of you kept me functioning, For I do not sleep alone when you visit, Many nights I wandered out of bed, Book in hand on the couch, Just so I could be alone with you, Even if it were only my thoughts.
