Summer Heat

The hot days of summer
came on very quickly
heat became oppressive
drying the soil at a rapid rate
fields started to show drought
garden leaves hung
from the sun's heat
animals looked for shade
water became more sparse
grass turning brown
cracks appeared on the ground
relentless the sun beat
only to have respite
after the sun went down.

I hear you are hot out your way. We had a few really hot days but we do get them in summer. Sometimes a few days or could be a few weeks but not to unusual for us. I am better thanks. love phyl

Climate change will bring about things and happenings we have never exp. In our lives - it feels like our planet will never be the same again. Our winter has been the mildest we have ever had. Things will come right but truly we must do our bit . A poem which brings to mind a sign of the times

I feel that the earth goes in cycles and not much to do with the climate change . Friends who farm have kept records over last 50 years and we have good and bad cycles Thanks for your comment. love phyl

That is exactly how heat is leaving its toll here in Malta, Phyllis! It's no joke having temperatures in the 90s, and it becomes unbearable, even at night. Luckily no mosquitoes have made an appearance...yet! ~ Warm regards xx paul

Thanks for your comment Paul. The heat has been hot but we tend to get it for a few days and then it cools off. We have had longer hotter periods before. Pesky mosquitoes are around. love phyl
