SUMMER IN THE CITY
Daddy said we could go to the sea
So we could have some summer fun
But I see the ‘sea’ is here in front on me
So I put on my bathing costume and run
The streets are usually filled with cars
And ladies who are going shopping
But the fire hydrant’s open, the ‘sea’ is ours
We are splashing and jumping and hopping
My mummy and daddy are watching us
I think they wish that they could join in
But if daddy got wet mummy would make a fuss
Just look at me, I’m soaked to the skin!
The temperature must be a hundred degrees
In this shallow water no one will drown
I long for a cooling summer breeze
So we splash happily to cool us down
We enjoyed the ‘sea’ in New York City
And now it’s time for me to go inside
I love the real seaside; it’s very pretty
One day soon daddy will take us for a ride.
