Summer Enchantment

Now it begins, the sweltering heat,
And the candle wax melts, very discreet
Forming a work of art in progress,
That can be moulded to impress.

Summer to me, it represents,
An unending circle of ascent and descent,
A chance for a new beginning
Start over and rejuvenate the thinning.

The thinning life, the thinning soul,
Held only by a strand in control.
But then comes a time for magic,
When you decide to be sad or euphoric
Where you choose the person you want to be
And leave who you were and flee.
You decide to cut and mould,
Leave away from life all that is cold,
Warmth, peace and serenity,
Is what summer means to me.
