Summer Dreams

She dreamed of buying a beautiful cottage,
A cottage on the lake where the water sparkled when the sun shone.

Swimming in the beautiful lake supervised,
Rowing in the rowboat with her husband and children.

Going back home to cook lunch,
Cooking on an old-fashioned stove.

Walks along the shore,
Watching the loons and ducks on the pond,

The sounds of the rippling waters,
The beautiful sunrise and sunset each day.

Sunrise was a lovely azure color,
Sunset hues of gold and blue.

Summer dreams that take you away from the busy city,
To the quietude of cottage country.
