Notes About The Poem

7/4/2024 for A bit of rough Poetry Contest sponsored by Di11y Da11y

Summer Concert

Tonight,
A pretty older mother,
At my retirement community's July 4th summer concert,
Speaks to her daughter with a thick Korean accent.

The Traveling Wilburys tribute band plays songs by
The Wilburys, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, and ELO,
All bands and artists who've made music that has excited my heart and spirit
Almost my whole life.

Mother and daughter
Have so much fun,
Dancing to every song.

A man in front of me
wears jewelry and a loose-fitting robe,
covered with colorful animal pictures.

Separate souls
Choose to join
In one happiness.

Someday, I hope to make it rhyme.

It's a good story without the rhyme. This tale tells what life is about, good times with good friends.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Hilda! Tried to follow the intent of the contest, and I was just back from the concert.

Hello David, Whether it rhymes or not but you created a poem about the 4th that is filled with life. The musicians took me back to my childhood. - Blessings, My Friend, Daniel

Thanks Daniel! I'm going to another concert here tonight, the entertainers are my age (guitarist and beautiful singer) doing oldies from 50s, 60s, 70s.
