Summer Breeze

Summer Breeze A summer breeze cools scorching leaves And calls to a reclining and lonely soul To listen to the whispering of Memories of long ago. When babies played on Dad-mowed grass, And laughed and fell and cried, But grew strong with love personified, ‘Til Lass met Lad and Lad met Lass, With one after one goodbye. Now a squirrel stares back with knowing eyes, A descendant of all he surveys, And cotton ball clouds drift beloved memories away. Resting eyes then close and doze in a cool summer breeze.

Very nostalgic and wonderfully written. A cool summer breeze is always welcomed on a balmy summer afternoon.
