Summer Breeze

SUMMER BREEZE

Watch the leaves shimmering on the trees
Being brushed by a gentle summer breeze

The breeze that blows across the meadow fair
Bringing a fragrance far beyond compare

The birds are singing a summer lullaby
Hush now little baby don't you cry

The breeze that blows across the meadow fair
Bringing a fragrance far beyond compare

See the beauty of a summer sky so blue
Feel the summer breeze it brings to you

The breeze that blows across the meadow fair
Bringing a fragrance far beyond compare

Summer nights fireflies show their glow
Still the gentle summer breezes blow

The breeze that blows across the meadow fair
Bringing a fragrance far beyond compare

Hey Curtis, congrats on a fine placement, just a suggestion a verse is usually 4 lines so your chorus wouldn't repeat so frequently, but then you would have to add a little bit, otherwise well done!

Hey Curtis, Mark is the master of putting music to the lyrics, if you ask him he might do it, I'm also searching for music to be put to my lyrics. Take care!

Thanks, John, for selecting my entry as a winning entry. I was told by another poet that you are the lyrics master -- his words -- and that I should ask you to consider setting it to music. What an honor that would be --- but minus the repeated chorus. lol

Here's to this nice lyric breezing its way to victory! Best wishes, Gershon

Gershon, I hope you're right on this one. Lyrics are a little difficult in that they are repetitive in nature, i.e., repeating the same chorus after each successive stanza. Somewhat redundant, but I do believe that is what John is looking for in this contest. Thank you so much for your comments and your support.
