Summer

On the journey home
The road winding endlessly
Through the lush green countryside,
My first day of freedom
Cradled in the arms of summer.

Usually it's all about the journey, not so much about the destination. But you have blended them nicely! :) gw

And with that, I can feel the wheels rolling on the pavement; see the scenery rolling by like a tape only it has a better scent. Lovely!

How I used to feel all those years ago when school let out for the summer. Nice nostalgia for me.
