Suffering
Death sleeps in my bed
Which is why I'm wide awake
Trying not to lose my head
Because this isn't something I can shake
Every day we run out of time
But we always hope for tomorrow
Hoping it makes sense like rhyme
Only to be greeted with sorrow
Poor choices cut my life string
But not even I can stop me
So I listen to the angels sing
The end is nigh I can't be free
I could shake hands with death
And make peace with the final conclusion
But with each passing breath
I succumb to confusion
Hold me because I'm scared to be alone
Because in the end there is no violence
But also no way to truly atone
As I give in to the silence
Eventually everything will go black
I had all the cards but forgot how to play them
And this noose around my neck has no slack
But still I jump as if on a whim
The noose breaks and still I bleed
In agony I plea for anyone to care
But I'm damned by my lack of creed
And when I look around nobody's there
Perhaps this is how I truly die
Wondering if anyone will remember my name
And all I will be able to ask is why
I died with all this shame...
