Subsitute

While sitting on the fence a-wasting time
Just waiting love to come and make my day
My blinded eyes could see no other way
And words fell like petals into a rhyme.
My heart silenced the thoughts of loving crime
Each breath refusing truth yearning to say
There is no place here for lovers to play
Such destiny belongs elsewhere this time.
No longer shall I be the second best
The one to set the ride for ego’s trip
Discarded like trash and worthless tat
Nor shall I be a free sampling to test
The Sapphic world that is groovy and hip
I know I deserve so much more than that
