Subservience
Why, if only life was not so twisted
If only, simply by wishing,
It would have granted me that which I seek
If only, it would have let me be that which I am
A Queen, solo and fair,
Ruling with the magic at the tips of my fingers!
But the abode we live in is one made of negativity
Here, it becomes normal to yearn
Like the thirsty do, for a drop of water
And to die, without ever having been fulfilled!
But then, why should life pay heed to me
Who am I after all,
If not a tiny grain of sand
Pushed ashore by the tides and pulled back in
The water without ever being able to express
Of my own will?
Pray, seek I to bring peace and sooth to my soul
May I then be strong enough to pretend that I seek not
May I then, be obedient to life and live it as it wants me to
Rather than hankering after that which is illusory and transient!
