At dawns first light
I abandoned you
A soul so full of love
An effervescent hue
At my first sight
I fell in love
Rescued from sin
Angel of above
And now in pain
My heartless soul
Forbidden treasures
No longer whole
For you are lost
And surely gone
I weep for you
All is done
An empty heart
A worthless soul
No longer exists
My precious whole

Dear Kelli, the poem lays bare the agony of loss with poignant simplicity. Like shards of broken glass, your words reflect the rawness of a heart shattered by abandonment. I loved the imagery of dawn's light and forbidden treasures encapsulating the depth of sorrow and longing. Kelli, what a haunting lamentation that has tasted the bitterness of love's absence. Excellent! - Blessings, Daniel
